DTC (Direct to Consumer)

Definition

A business model where brands sell directly to end customers through their own channels (e-commerce, pop-ups, owned retail) without wholesale intermediaries. DTC brands capture full retail margin but bear the full cost of marketing and fulfilment. Manufacturing for DTC requires flexibility — smaller initial runs, faster reorders, and the ability to scale up quickly when products go viral.
