What is private label clothing manufacturing?
Private label manufacturing means we produce garments designed entirely by you, under your brand name. You control everything — the design, fabrics, labels, and packaging. We handle the production in our factory in Barcelos, Portugal, using certified materials.
What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
It depends on the garment, because heavier pieces use more fabric per unit and reach an efficient run sooner. Hoodies, sweatshirts, zip-ups, sweatpants and shorts are 100 units for a single colourway, dropping to 75 per colour once you order two or more colourways. T-shirts, long sleeves, polos, tank tops and shirts are 150 for a single colourway, dropping to 100 per colour across two or more. Samples have no minimum — we produce single units for approval.
How long does production take?
Sample development typically takes 2-3 weeks. Once the sample is approved, bulk production runs 4-6 weeks depending on order size and complexity. Total timeline from first contact to delivery is usually 6-10 weeks. The stage most likely to add time is dyeing: a custom Pantone needs roughly 300 metres of fabric per colour and a lab dip approved before the bulk dye run, which adds 2-3 weeks on its own. Choosing a stock colour removes that wait entirely.
How do you ship, and who handles customs?
We ship DAP (Delivered At Place) to your address, or EXW (Ex Works) from Barcelos if you prefer to arrange your own freight — your choice. On both terms we prepare the full export pack: commercial invoice, packing list, EUR.1 movement certificate where applicable, and the HS codes for your garments. Import clearance and any duties are handled on your side. Shipments within the EU move freely with no customs or duties.
Do you ship to the UK, and are there customs duties after Brexit?
Yes — we ship DAP to UK addresses, same as anywhere else, and prepare the full export pack for it. For garments made in Portugal from EU-origin materials, the tariff into the UK is zero under the EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement, provided the garment meets the TCA rules of origin — sufficient processing (cutting, sewing, finishing) carried out in the EU, which our full-package production in Barcelos satisfies. UK import VAT is charged at the border by your customs broker or courier and is reclaimable on your next VAT return if you are VAT-registered. We provide the commercial invoice, packing list, and EUR.1 movement certificate needed to claim the preferential rate.
How much does private label manufacturing cost?
Costs depend on fabric choice, garment complexity, trims, and order volume. We provide detailed quotations promptly. As a factory-direct manufacturer, our pricing is transparent — you see exactly where every euro goes.
What do I need to get started?
Ideally, a tech pack with detailed specifications. If you don't have one, we can work from sketches, reference garments, or detailed descriptions. Our collection development service can also help you create production-ready designs from scratch.
Do you handle fabric sourcing?
Yes. We source from trusted European and international mills. You can also supply your own fabric if you prefer. We help you choose the right materials for your design, budget, and sustainability goals.
Can I visit the factory?
Factory visits are available for production clients — once samples are approved and bulk production is underway. We'd love to welcome you at our facility in Barcelos, Portugal, where you can see the production floor, meet the team, and inspect quality firsthand.
