Elastane / Spandex
Definition
A synthetic fibre with exceptional elasticity, capable of stretching up to 500% of its original length and recovering fully. Typically blended at 2-8% with cotton or polyester to add stretch and shape retention. In garment manufacturing, even a small percentage of elastane dramatically improves fit, comfort, and resistance to bagging at knees and elbows.
