Elastic waistband + drawcord
Standard for fleece and sweat shorts. Full elastic waist with woven or flat drawcord — internal or external. Comfortable, no-fuss construction.
Button-and-zip fly
Standard for chino and tailored shorts. Metal or corozo button, YKK zip, belt loops. Clean, structured finish for smart-casual positioning.
Hybrid waistband
Elastic back panel with a structured front and button closure. Combines comfort with a polished look. Popular for resort and casual collections.
Custom inseam lengths
Any inseam from 5" (short athletic) to 9" (knee-length). Each size in your grading can have a proportional inseam. Most brands choose 7" for a modern fit.

Send your specs, sketches, or reference shorts. We return a detailed itemised quote within 48 hours — fabric, manufacturing, waistband construction, decoration, labelling, all broken down.
Sampling
We produce your first sample in 7–10 working days. Review fit, inseam, waistband, and fabric hand-feel. Most brands finalise in 1–2 rounds. Sample cost is credited against your first bulk order.
Pre-Production Approval
Before bulk begins, you approve a pre-production sample in your actual production fabric and trims. This is the exact garment every unit in your order will replicate.
Production & QC
Cutting, sewing, finishing, decoration, and quality control — all in our Barcelos factory. Every pair of shorts is individually inspected before packing. Production runs 3–5 weeks.
Delivery
We ship direct to your door or fulfilment centre. EU delivery in 2–5 days. We handle customs documentation and can ship DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) to most destinations.

What types of shorts can you manufacture?

What is the best fabric for custom shorts?
It depends on the end use. French terry (240–360 GSM) is ideal for fleece/sweat shorts — soft, comfortable, and popular in athleisure and streetwear. Cotton twill (200–280 GSM) works best for chino and tailored shorts. Cotton canvas (220–380 GSM) suits workwear and cargo shorts. For summer resort collections, lightweight cotton poplin or linen blends offer breathability. We stock all of these and can source specialty fabrics on request.
Can you produce custom inseam lengths?
Yes. We produce shorts in any inseam length — from 5-inch (short athletic cut) to 9-inch (knee-length) and anything in between. Each size in your grading can have a different inseam if needed. We develop custom patterns based on your specifications, so you are not locked into standard measurements. Most brands settle on a 7-inch inseam for a versatile, modern fit.
Do you offer elastic waist, drawstring, and button waist options?
Yes — all three, and combinations. Fleece shorts typically use a full elastic waistband with an internal or external drawcord. Chino shorts use a button-and-zip fly with belt loops. We also produce hybrid waistbands — elastic back panel with a structured front and button closure — which are popular for resort and casual collections. Hardware (buttons, rivets, eyelets) is sourced from European suppliers.
Can you produce matching shorts-and-tee sets?
Yes — co-ord sets are one of our most requested categories. We dye-match shorts and t-shirts (or hoodies, tank tops, etc.) in the same dye lot to guarantee colour consistency. Both pieces can share branding, fabric, and trim details. Sets are packed together or separately depending on your fulfilment needs. MOQ applies per piece, not per set.
What are the lead times for summer collection shorts?
We recommend starting 12–16 weeks before your planned launch for a first production run. Sampling takes 7–10 days per round (1–2 rounds typical). Bulk production runs 3–5 weeks. For European brands targeting a May/June summer drop, this means kicking off in January–February. Reorders are faster at 4–6 weeks since patterns already exist. We get busy from February onwards, so booking early secures your production slot.
What is the minimum order quantity for shorts?
Our minimum order is 50 units per style and colour. This applies to all shorts types — fleece, chino, canvas, cargo. For samples, there is no minimum: we produce single units for your approval before committing to bulk. If you want to test multiple styles, you can order 50 units of each to gauge market response.
How much do custom shorts cost to manufacture in Portugal?
Cost varies by fabric, construction, and decoration. As a rough guide: 280 GSM French terry sweat shorts with embroidery at 100 units run approximately €14–20 per unit.
