FOB (Free on Board)

Definition

A pricing and shipping term indicating that the quoted price includes the goods delivered to a specified port or point of shipment. Beyond that point, the buyer assumes freight and insurance costs. In garment manufacturing, FOB pricing is the most common quoting method — it includes fabric, trims, production, finishing, packing, and local transport to port, but not international shipping or duties.
